Crown roast of pork, and a wonderful wine. Happy New Year, everybody!

Tonight it’s King Crab legs and T-bone steaks with some sourdough bread to stop up the butter/juices. There is some talk of a veggie of some sort but I’m not sure why.

Nice! I made a loaf of sourdough, the remnants of which are sitting next to me. Veggies are good to add color to the plate.

My wife has some sourdough starter that has been in her family forever. So good.

I have had many alcohols. For dinner, though, it’ll be some leftover crock pot chicken and noodles I made yesterday.

That actually sounds really good, and I’m full. Feasts come in all shapes and sizes.

I had a chicken breast and some blue corn tortilla chips. I’m debating drowning my sorrows with a beer of some sort.

It turned out well, but I want to make a couple of changes next time adding some chopped onion and some peas. Here’s the recipe with changes:
1 lb frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of celery soup
1 stick unsalted butter
1 can (15 oz) + 1 cup chicken broth
1 tbsp garlic powder
6-7 sticks celery
24 oz old-fashioned noodles, frozen (like Reames)
Salt and pepper
1 cup frozen peas
1 cup sliced onion
Put chicken in crock pot after seasoning with salt and pepper. Some other options are coating with Lawrey’s Seasoning Salt or with Badia Sazón Completa (as I used this time). Mix the soup with the broth and the garlic powder and pour over the chicken. Cut the stick of butter into 8 pieces and add to pot. Cook on low for 6-7 hours.
Remove chicken from sauce and shred with a fork. Return to sauce, and add chopped celery and onion, noodles, and peas. Cook for another 2 hours on low. Add lots of black pepper before serving.

Thanks. I’ll try it. I’ve found that meat in crockpot recipes needs a lot more salt than you would think, but your recipe may have plenty built in with the broth and soup.

I think I’m going to go with the Lawrey’s instead of the Badia next time for that reason.
